Why
Aim for a reservoir temperature around 67°F, with about 65 to 68°F as a practical starting range. Different grows can perform well at different temperatures, so consider root health and aeration alongside the thermometer. As water warms, it holds less dissolved oxygen. But temperature alone does not tell you how much oxygen is actually in the water or whether roots have an infection. A chiller controls temperature and aeration supplies oxygen. Those are separate jobs, and you want both working well.
