Hydroponics began as a hobby. It soon occupied a room, acquired a budget, and started issuing homework.
I’ve made nearly every mistake available to a DWC or RDWC grower, including a few twice, purely in the interest of peer review.
Like most new growers, I turned to Google, AI, and forums. They gave me ten confident answers pointing in twelve different directions. Some were excellent. Others were outdated, stripped of context, copied from somewhere else, or written for an entirely different setup. The information didn’t end my mistakes. Occasionally, it introduced me to exciting new ones.
That confusion is why Grow Pops exists.
I compare sources, examine the science, separate established hydroponic practice from opinion, and test it all against real experience. I’ll tell you what the evidence supports, what works in my setup, and where honest judgment is still required. My method isn’t the only method, and I won’t pretend otherwise.
Most of the people I help cultivate the plant with the unmistakable leaves, sticky flowers, and more code names than a classified operation. If you know, you know. If you’re here, you almost certainly know.
I’ve visited 89 countries, but my favorite destination is still my grow tent. The room service is nonexistent and the climate is strangely demanding, but nowhere teaches me more.
That’s where I experiment, learn, and develop practical products for people wrestling with the same equipment and questions. When an idea earns a permanent place in my tent, it may eventually earn a place in yours. For now, I’m here to earn your trust, not ask for your order.
At home, I’ve been married to the same very patient woman for 34 years. We’re currently supervised by three dogs, following a long succession of animals who knew a soft touch when they saw one.
I’m not the smartest guy in the room. But when I’m sober, I can usually separate the science from the fertilizer.
Grow Pops is the clear, well-researched guidance I wish I’d had before paying tuition for every lesson myself.
If you appreciate what I’m building, subscribe, share an answer with another grower, or send me a question worth chasing. Those small actions help this little tent reach a much bigger world.
Let’s grow.
